Motor dance journal issue one launches Kickstarter campaign
Brand new dance journal ‘motor’ is raising funds on Kickstarter for the launch of issue one. The new journal, which held its launch event on the 15th November at the ICA in London, is looking to raise a total of £4,000 to get its first issue - The Solo, into the hands of print fans across the globe.

Math magazine closes its doors after 11 issues
Math magazine is closing its doors after 11 issues. Posting on Twitter on July 14th, Math’s team wrote, “after 11 issues of Math Magazine, MATH#10(art) will be our last. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and supported over the last 7 years.” Math has made a name for itself as a “safe, sexy and inclusive” publication, they write. “Math enables sex-positive experiences through radical inclusiveness, community, and high-caliber collaboration. Our flagship book series features explicit artwork and writing for an increasingly connected and sexually liberated world. We believe in pleasure for all.”

Dulcify Journal announce call for submissions for issue one
Brand new food journal ‘Dulcify’ has placed a call for submissions for their debut issue via Instagram. ‘Dulcify Journal’ aim to focus on telling stories from the community whilst also donating 10% of all sales to ‘Empty Kitchens’, a food charity and kitchen in Edinburgh, Scotland.

LogoArchive and APWoT shortlisted in Design Week Awards
Indie publications LogoArchive and A Profound Waste of Time have been shortlisted in the ‘Editorial Design’ category of the Design Week awards. The annual awards feature categories such as Communication, Spaces, Digital, Products & Furniture and Landmark. Magazines including LogoArchive’s extra issue by Studio Suther& named ‘pLAy’ are up for the win alongside A Profound Waste of Time’s issue two. ‘pLAy’ was featured in our September round-up here.

St Bride Foundation hosts Holly Catford and friends this June
St Bride Foundation is set to host Holly Catford and friends on the 16th June. The 126 year old grade II listed building in London will play host to the lecture, held in person and online via Zoom. ‘Team work makes the dream work: Making magazines with Holly Catford and friends’ will see magazine maker Holly bring us on a “journey into the world of editorial design and visual collaboration,” the event listing notes. “Magazines are always a team effort and her ethos is that ‘everything I do is better when I work with other people’.”
