BOYS BOYS BOYS! launches brand new book published by Kehrer Verlag

The Little Black Gallery has launched a brand new BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! book this May. Featuring new works from over sixty photographers, the 208 page compendium contains 141 colour and black and white photographs from thirty countries including China, India, Iran, Poland, and Russia. As noted on their website, the countries are host to repressive gay rights and “queer lives are under constant threat.” The new book was launched at Eisenherz in Berlin, Germany on the 5th of May. The launch saw Editor Ghislain Pascal joined by photographers Callum Leo Hughes, Gerardo Vizmanos, Johnny Abbate, Richard Kranzin, Kuba Swietlik, Jacopo Paglione, and Nigel Grimmer. A UK launch followed at the Rosewood London.

The book follows a successful launch of issue 5 of their BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! Magazine in March, which is an ad free collection of photography in a smaller format than their “Best of BOYS! BOYS! BOYS!” book released this month. The Little Black Gallery also hosted a BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! World Pride exhibition at WorkingDog Gallery in Sydney, Australia earlier this year. Held between the 23rd of February to 11th of March 2023, the World Pride exhibition featured 62 queer & gay photographers under the same roof.

With an already packed year, the new book release has seen Editor Ghislain Pascal and Studio Kunze join forces again for the curation and design. Published by Kehrer Verlag, $1 from every sale of each copy of the book will be donated to charities supporting the LGBTQ+ community and fighting the HIV / AIDS epidemic, as explained on the website.

Overleaf is also pleased to announce a brand new podcast episode with Ghislain Pascal arriving in the next month. Make sure to follow Overleaf on Spotify and Apple to get a notification when it goes live. You can also sign up for the newsletter here to be the first to know when it drops!
