Cover Junkie, the archival magazine cover project of Jaap Biemans has opened a brand new exhibition in Amsterdam this Spring. “The Originals” exhibition celebrates the power of magazine cover art through a range of physical pieces across a plethora of historical and present-day magazines.

The Posthumanist magazine explores the universal theme of sleep in debut issue
Launched in the September of this year, The Posthumanist is a “magazine for more-than-human art, design, technology and writing,” as is written on the cover with a small asterisk denoting the line. The multi-lingual publication is the brainchild of Editor-in-chief Anna Nolda Nagele, and features both English and German split content throughout.

Noia magazine issue one creates a diverse platform for discussion and creativity
Issue one of Noia is an ode to perseverance and creativity within a time of uncertainty and unusual moral clarity. Clarity found within the realm of ‘boredom’, the magazine’s actual translation from Italian. The magazine writes, “Noia is a platform of debate and a laboratory to create dynamic and creative conversations, enacted collaboratively between cross-disciplinary fields.”

Math magazine closes its doors after 11 issues
Math magazine is closing its doors after 11 issues. Posting on Twitter on July 14th, Math’s team wrote, “after 11 issues of Math Magazine, MATH#10(art) will be our last. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and supported over the last 7 years.” Math has made a name for itself as a “safe, sexy and inclusive” publication, they write. “Math enables sex-positive experiences through radical inclusiveness, community, and high-caliber collaboration. Our flagship book series features explicit artwork and writing for an increasingly connected and sexually liberated world. We believe in pleasure for all.”

LogoArchive and APWoT shortlisted in Design Week Awards
Indie publications LogoArchive and A Profound Waste of Time have been shortlisted in the ‘Editorial Design’ category of the Design Week awards. The annual awards feature categories such as Communication, Spaces, Digital, Products & Furniture and Landmark. Magazines including LogoArchive’s extra issue by Studio Suther& named ‘pLAy’ are up for the win alongside A Profound Waste of Time’s issue two. ‘pLAy’ was featured in our September round-up here.

Isolarii releases Ukraine war focused issue seven ‘In The Face of War’
Isolarii have unveiled their brand new, seventh publication ‘IN THE FACE OF WAR’. The new issue sits alongside the exhibition, “This is Ukraine: Defending Freedom.” As part of the Venice Biennale, the exhibition was produced in partnership with the Office of the President of Ukraine and curated by isolarii subscriber Björn Geldhof. Alltag finds its roots in everyday rituals

Established in Norway in 1999, Fukt magazine has become an indelible format for artists and illustrators to make their mark.
