JK’s Magazine issue two aims to inspire through a diverse creative showcase
JK’s Magazine issue two has continued its mission of injecting inspiration through exhibiting the creative arts. With its release in Winter of 2022, JK’s Magazine’s Editor Jeesi Kalombo explains that his “long-term visions (have) come into reality.” He continues, “I hope the magazine gives people, who have not yet found an artistic hobby or expressed themselves through their own work, the courage to start in many different ways.”

Linseed Journal announces volume two call for submissions
Linseed Journal has announced a call for submissions for volume two. The release of volume one in 2022, named ‘The Apple’, saw Linseed’s first edition in print hit the shelves. Speaking about how Linseed came to be, their website reads, “Inspired by the linseed, each print Volume is themed around a single organic material with enduring cultural significance.”

The Floating Magazine’s posterzine is an ode to activism and creativity for the greater good
Payal is owner and publisher of The Floating Magazine (TFM), a digital magazine “featuring in-depth conversations with visual artists from around the world.” Having been a personal project for the past five years, Payal sought to transition a snippet of the digital content across to print, and it took a pandemic to make it happen, she tells Overleaf. “I had been wanting to do something in print right from the moment I started TFM,” Payal says. “However, lack of something or the other (funds/resources/bandwidth etc.) often stopped me. However, during the pandemic, I started getting these end of the world vibes and I thought ‘it’s now or never’.”

Stack to host Mother Tongue and Kindling joint event this July
Magazine subscription service (and now book club) Stack magazines are hosting an event in London this July, hosting two popular indie titles on the night. Taking place on the 6th of July at The Book Club in Shoreditch, the event will see Mother Tongue and Kindling join forces to discuss “rethinking the family.” Named ‘Beyond the Nuclear Family’, this new event follows Stack’s Independent Magazine Fair in May. The topic looks to discuss, “what does it mean to have a family today?”

LogoArchive and APWoT shortlisted in Design Week Awards
Indie publications LogoArchive and A Profound Waste of Time have been shortlisted in the ‘Editorial Design’ category of the Design Week awards. The annual awards feature categories such as Communication, Spaces, Digital, Products & Furniture and Landmark. Magazines including LogoArchive’s extra issue by Studio Suther& named ‘pLAy’ are up for the win alongside A Profound Waste of Time’s issue two. ‘pLAy’ was featured in our September round-up here.
