Indie Con opens table applications for 2023 tenth anniversary edition
Independent Publishing Festival Indie Con is returning for their tenth anniversary edition of the event this year. To be held in Oberhafen, Hamburg between the 1st and 3rd of September, Indie Con will take place in the “geographic center of Oberhafen,” they note on the website.

The Posthumanist magazine explores the universal theme of sleep in debut issue
Launched in the September of this year, The Posthumanist is a “magazine for more-than-human art, design, technology and writing,” as is written on the cover with a small asterisk denoting the line. The multi-lingual publication is the brainchild of Editor-in-chief Anna Nolda Nagele, and features both English and German split content throughout.

Berlin’s Nobody magazine issue one finds beauty in the everyday
Nobody is a Berlin-based biannual print magazine about people, their stories, places, and much more. Their press release notes, “we reach beyond the headlines to publish reported longform writing, photo series, illustrated memoir, and other experiments in voice.” Nobody issue one pierces the veil of the everyday and invites us into the world of the undiscovered, unheard and the unrelenting. Created by two writers (and best friends) Sami and Tessa, Nobody derives its mission from becoming “frustrated with the homogenization and “clickbatey” nature of mainstream media,” they write. “[This] has created an environment where creativity and experimentation are almost impossible.”

Alltag finds its roots in everyday rituals
Hailing from Vienna, Austria, ‘Alltag’ is an annual newspaper which is composed to reflect the, “supposedly normal” - their intro explains. “Alltag”, meaning, “the everyday,” in German is a German-language publication published, designed and curated by Lisa Eder and Fekry Halal of ‘Kunst- und Kulturverein Alltag’. Fukt magazine issue 19 sees artists expand on the theme of storytelling
Established in Norway in 1999, Fukt magazine has become an indelible format for artists and illustrators to make their mark. Now based in Berlin, the magazine has since released issue 19, themed around Storytelling. Dedicated to contemporary drawing, each issue sits down with artists to discuss their everyday, process and deep dives into their world. Germany’s ‘Do You Read Me?!’ bookstore opens in Helsinki
Hailing from Berlin, Germany, popular bookstore ‘Do You Read Me?!’ have set-up a new presence in Helsinki, Finland. Reported in Monocle, the press release mentions, “Located in the design-savvy Punavuori neighbourhood, the cosy shop offers a well-chosen collection of books on art, design, architecture and contemporary culture.” Last year saw Berlin’s ‘Do You Read Me?!’ celebrate their 12th birthday.
