Rova Editions to host ‘Left in Print’ inaugural event this October
ristol based magazine and book shop Rova Editions are set to host their inaugural event this October. Named ‘Left in Print’, the event will be “a discussion of print media and its relationship with progressive ideas, underrepresented voices and political narratives,” Rova’s Instagram notes. The event on the 10th of October is already sold out at time of writing, but make sure to follow their socials for news about any potential future events.

Sonsoles print studio’s ‘Save Our Studio’ Crowdfunder campaign nearing target
Peckham based print studio Sonsoles are currently running a crowdfunding campaign to combat the threat of closure this year. Hosted on Crowdfunder, the ‘Save Our Studio’ campaign is active now until the 29th of September 2023 and includes a range of prizes worth up to £600 via a raffle, amongst other goodies.

Hi Desert Times Magazines are set to open a store in 29 Palms this July. The grand opening is to be held on 6th of July, as announced on Instagram. The poster features all the details including a ribbon-cutting at 11am, with an ice cream after party at 5:30pm featuring Nice Dream Ices.

Akin magazine opens physical store in Norwich
Independent magazine Akin opened their first physical store in the heart of Norwich in March 2022. This is a huge milestone for the magazine and the owner Alice, having only been an online webshop until now. Pics & Ink donating all revenue to Ukraine Appeal for one day only
Online magazine newsstand Pics & Ink have launched a one day only revenue donation to support Ukraine. For today only (16th March) the online magazine retailer will donate all revenues and all UK postage costs to the Ukraine Appeal. Guardians of indie mags Magazine Brighton announces store closure
Prominent independent magazine shop ‘Magazine Brighton’ is set to close in April 2022. The announcement was made via their Instagram this past week with the words, “For personal reasons, Magazine Brighton is closing. Our final trading day will be Saturday, April 2nd 2022. We know that everything changes and that this is simply another small version of that. We have loved every minute of having our shop, a huge part of which is the way you and many others have supported us both online and in-store with your enthusiasm, purchases, recommendations and your good wishes. Germany’s ‘Do You Read Me?!’ bookstore opens in Helsinki
Hailing from Berlin, Germany, popular bookstore ‘Do You Read Me?!’ have set-up a new presence in Helsinki, Finland. Reported in Monocle, the press release mentions, “Located in the design-savvy Punavuori neighbourhood, the cosy shop offers a well-chosen collection of books on art, design, architecture and contemporary culture.” Last year saw Berlin’s ‘Do You Read Me?!’ celebrate their 12th birthday.
