Indie Con opens table applications for 2023 tenth anniversary edition

Independent Publishing Festival Indie Con is returning for their tenth anniversary edition of the event this year. To be held in Oberhafen, Hamburg between the 1st and 3rd of September 2023, Indie Con will take place in the “geographic center of Oberhafen,” they note on the website. “The newly opened Gleishalle is a non-profit open space run by an association of tenants at Oberhafen. It is the train hall of the former freight yard and will open up the opportunity to host all parts of Indiecon on one level in an amazing space.”

Last year’s Indie Con looked at the topic ‘“Repetition is not a Repeat” and featured talks from the likes of Jacobin, Journal Safar, Hamam, SICK, Kajet and also held a talk by Steve Watson – the owner of STACK magazines, the popular indie magazine subscription service. Steve wrote of last year’s festival, “travelling to Hamburg again reminded me of the thrill I used to get when I’d visit Indiecon, or the QVED and EDCH events in Munich, and discover a whole new perspective on independent print.” His full write-up can be read here, and is a great insight into the festival itself and everything around it.

The line-up for this year’s Indie Con is yet to be announced, but you can expect a strong range of keynote speakers and a diverse range of titles on sale. Applications for 2023’s exhibitors are now open and you can apply for a table here. Applications close on March 31st 2023.
